Brian Reeves, VP of Operations
Brian is also a proud Aggie and was a member of the Corps of Cadets at Texas A&M University, where he graduated with a degree in business management and finance. He worked in various accounting roles before joining Paul and Susie to open Spec Rents in 2012. His experience in managing finances of multiple companies has made him an asset to this growing company. In addition to running the operations and behind the scenes of Spec Rents, Brian is a skilled draftsman, working in conjunction with Hydro Mobile and engineering firms to provide detailed layouts to our customers.
He is a devoted husband and father to 2 very active dogs- Dexter and Asher. He enjoys cycling and woodworking, which he learned from his father.
Emilie Reeves, VP- CEO
Emilie Reeves, MD, brings a unique set of skills to our team. Growing up in the family business, she learned what it takes to run a successful business early on from Susie and Paul. She pursued her goal of becoming a physician, graduating both undergraduate and medical school at Texas A&M University, before going on to residency in Alexandria, LA and El Paso, TX. In 2021, Emilie chose to leave the medical field and Spec Rents was fortunate to have the opportunity to bring Emilie back full-time to run all things financial, human resources, and safety. Married to Brian, the two make an amazing team to keep Spec Rents successful.
When she’s not at work, she enjoys time with Brian and their fur babies, as well as being a devoted aunt to her nieces and nephews. She also enjoys reading, sewing, and designing the home that she and Brian are almost finished remodeling together.
Elizabeth "Liz" Graves, President
Liz grew up in the masonry industry, proudly watching and helping Susie and Paul grow their masonry business throughout the years. Liz graduated from Texas A&M University with a degree in Kinesiology, specializing in education. She worked as a student athletic trainer with the varsity sports teams while at A&M. After graduation in 2006, she started at P and S Masonry in Safety and Human Resources. She later made the transition into project management for the company. She left the masonry industry for 3 years in 2013, upon moving to DFW, where she worked as Program Manager for Texas Health Resources. She happily returned to the construction industry to work in business development for Spec Rents in 2016. Her experience in the industry makes her a great resource to help her customers with safety and productivity. She is currently co-chair of the MCAA Generation Next. She has served on the board of the UMCA, as the Membership Chairman, and served two terms as president of the Central Texas Mason Contractors Association and previously chaired the MCAA TEAMs national masonry awards program.
Liz also proudly serves as the Executive Director of the Cast Stone Institute, the national association of certified cast stone producers and associate members. She does this through Big Red Brand, as boutique association/non-profit management and marketing company based in Hamilton, Texas. They operate out of the Copper Garden, located in the heart of downtown.
She is married to her best friend, Garen, who is also in the masonry industry with Jewel, an Oldcastle Company. Together they are raising four kids- Will, Anna, Clara and Kate. She enjoys writing, hiking and camping, coffee, sleeping, cooking, crafting, and silence when she's not playing, working or taking care of the family.
James Busing, Equipment and Product Specialist- Outside Sales
jamesb@specrents.com
Born and raised in the Tyler, Texas area, James brings more than 38 years of experience in construction supply, commercial sales, and building materials to the Spec Rents team.
He began his career at 17 working in the lumberyard at Payless Cashways in Tyler, eventually working his way into management and serving as District Manager over four Austin-area lumberyards before the company closed in 2000. James then spent five years with The Home Depot, including time as District Manager for Commercial Sales in Houston, supporting commercial clients and contractors across Texas.
For the last 16 years, James worked with Quikrete, including two years with VeneerStone (manufactured stone), partnering with dealers, contractors, and field professionals throughout the state. His decades spent serving the trades mean he understands the needs of contractors, jobsite challenges, and what it takes to support customers in the field — not just from a desk.
James considers himself a “jack of all trades,” and his reputation shows it. He’s never met a stranger, prides himself on treating everyone with respect, and believes you can find common ground with anyone.
James lives in Spicewood, Texas with his bride, Renee, where they keep four dogs and (yes) 16 chickens. When he’s not helping customers, he’s likely bowhunting, fishing, riding motorcycles (street or dirt — he’s not picky), or out on the lake.
He is the proud father of three children, and honors the memory of his youngest son, who passed away in 2020 after a courageous battle with cancer. That loss shaped his outlook on life — reminding him to appreciate every moment, lead with kindness, and invest in relationships.
We’re proud to have James on the Spec Rents team — bringing a lifetime of industry experience, practical problem-solving, and a genuine love for helping people succeed.
Dean Logan, Shop and Equipment Manager

He ensures that equipment is kept in great shape and that are customers are equipped with what they need.
In his spare time, Dean enjoys spending time with his wife, Janette, and his children and grandchildren, which keep them both busy. Additionally, Dean is a talented guitar player, who often dedicates his time to play for church and nursing homes in the area.
